HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College field hockey team will look for a return trip to the Centennial Conference playoffs in 2015.

One of the major highlights from the 2014 campaign was the Fords' 3-2 victory over Eastern in overtime. Haverford ended the season with three wins in its last four contests including a Senior Day victory over McDaniel and 11-2 takedown against Swarthmore. In the win over Swarthmore, Jen DiMaria '15 set two schools records with five goals and 11 points while the team tied the program record with its 11 goals.

The Fords will have to replace a valuable group of graduates in DiMaria, Jacque Fagan '15, Catherine Aronowitz '15, and Brooke Kelly '15, who went to three Centennial Conference tournaments and a conference final. DiMaria finished sixth all-time in goals (29) and eight in points (68) while Aronowitz was 11th in program history in points (63) and games played (72). Fagan was a two-time National Field Hockey Coaches' Association Academic Squad member while Kelly was a two-time team captain.

Haverford's three captains for the 2015 season are Brenna Boehman, Abby Frerotte and Sarah Waldis. Boehman is two-time captain who set career highs in goals and points in 2014. Frerotte scored her first career victory last season and will provide depth along with Danielle Rette behind starting goalkeeper Lindsey Lopes. Waldis missed four games because of an injury, but was an All-Centennial Conference second team player as a sophomore.

Paige Carson is the leading returning scorer for the Fords after tallying five goals and three assists in 2014. Elena Veale also added four goals despite missing some action because of an injury and Stephanie Terrell was All-Centennial Conference honorable mention. Other contributors on the offense include Megan Kristoff, Alexandra Fascione-Hutchins, Jolie Brakey, Sydney Cone, Sarah Lambros, Charlotte Eisenberg, Mason McNulty, Paige Powell and Alissa Valentine.

On the back line, the Fords are led by Allison Martin, an All-Centennial Conference second team selection and Kelly Hancock who made 13 starts last year. Nicole Witte and Natalie Leslie will provide depth offensively and also have shown the ability to play on defense. These players will help starting goalkeeper Lindsey Lopes who set career highs in shutouts (two), saves (99) and save percentage (.756) last year. Other players that will add to the team defensively are Sarah Betti, Keri Cronin, Malin Ehrsam and Rachel Grunden.

Looking at the 2015 schedule, the Fords will play four teams ranked in the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) top 20 in Franklin and Marshall (No. 6), Ursinus (No. 7), Messiah (No. 13), and Rowan (No. 20). The Fords open the season at Swan Field vs. Cabrini (Sept. 1) with the Centennial Conference opener a few weeks later vs. Dickinson (Sept. 19).
