HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College field hockey team (3-2) used an offensive barrage to run past the Immaculata Mighty Macs (0-5) 7-0 at Swan Field on Tuesday afternoon.

Haverford quickly pushed the offensive tempo with six straight shots during a four-minute stretch of the first half, however Immaculata's goaltender Christine McIntyre stood tall making four consecutive saves to keep the Fords off the scoreboard. The home team continued to pepper McIntyre with shots as senior captain Sarah Waldis took four more shots during a three-minute frame later in the half, but was denied.

Senior captain Brenna Boehman finally got the Fords on the board with her first tally of the year in the 17th minute. Off a corner from sophomore Stephanie Terrell, Boehman got the ball by her defender and shot it past the goaltender.

The Mighty Macs tried to tie the game when they got the ball into the circle, but Fords' goaltender Lindsey Lopes came up with a save in the 18th minute. Waldis, who had seven shots in the first half, saw her hard work pay off as she brought the ball towards the far post and shot it past McIntyre to give the Fords a 2-0 advantage in the 32nd minute.

The first half was an impressive performance as the Fords held a 24-2 lead in shots and a 10-0 advantage in penalty corners. Boehman led the team with eight shots while seven others took at least one in the first stanza.

Head coach Jackie Cox's team continued their torrid offense in the second half with three goals in 2:40 of game time. Sophomore Paige Carson recorded her fifth goal of the season in the 38th minute, poking the ball past the goalie in a scramble in front of the net. Junior Nicole Witte registered her second career tally just 38 seconds after. One minute later, Boehman found room near the top of the circle and slapped the ball by McIntyre to make it 5-0.

Waldis had the first multi-goal game of her career when she pounced on a rebound and slid it into the net in the 46th minute. Freshman Paige Powell scored the Fords' seventh goal of the contest and the second of her career in the 60th minute.

The Fords' 40 shots in the contest are tied for 10th most all-time. The last time the team reached the 40-shot plateau was against Misericordia (41) on Sept. 25, 2012. Boehman's 13 shots ranks in a tie for eighth in program history and are the most since Alex Waleko '11 had 13 shots vs. Washington College on Oct. 20, 2010. 29 of the team's 40 shots were on goal and 11 different Fords recorded a shot. McIntyre had 17 saves in the loss for Immaculata.

Dickinson will open Centennial Conference play for Haverford on Saturday (12 p.m.) at Swan Field. The Fords are looking for their fourth straight win at Swan Field despite dropping a 4-0 decision to the Red Devils last season.
