Field Hockey vs. WAC Moved to Oct. 29

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Haverford College field hockey team's game vs. the Washington College Shorewomen has postponed until tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. The game originally scheduled for today has moved because of the incoming threat of thunderstorms.

Haverford clinched a playoff spot last Saturday in its 5-3 victory over McDaniel. Sophomore Elena Veale scored a hat trick which set a new career high in goals and points. Her goal in the ninth minute of the first half was her fourth game-winning tally of the year, one shy of the program high for a season. With her stellar performance, Veale was named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

This is the Fords' sixth playoff berth in the last seven seasons with two Centennial Finals appearances (2010, 2012). Haverford has also won at least 10 games in five of head coach Jackie Cox's six seasons.
