Field Hockey Has 21 Named to NFHCA Academic Squad, Receives Academic Team Award

HAVERFORD, Pa. -- The National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) announced its 2015 Gladiator by SGI National Academic Squads. The Haverford College field hockey team had 21 members receive the academic honor. The team was also named to the Division III national academic team award listing.

The National Academic Squad recognizes those student athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year. With 21 players on the Division III list, the Fords led the Centennial Conference.

Brenna Boehman, Allison Martin, and Sarah Waldis were all honored for the fourth time in their Haverford careers. Lindsey Lopes received the honor for the third time. Two-time honorees included Sarah Betti, Juliette Brakey, Paige CarsonAlexandra Fascione-Hutchins, and Stephanie Terrell. Joining the list for the first time are Keri Cronin, Malin Ehrsam, Charlotte Eisenberg, Abigaile Frerotte, Rachel Grunden, Kelly Hancock, Sarah Labros, Natalie Leslie, Lillian McNulty, Alissa Valentine, Elana Veale, and Nicole Witte.

The Fords were among 121 teams that achieved a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year.

Haverford finished its season with an 11-7 record and will look to return four of its top five scorers for next season.
