HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Haverford College field hockey team improved to 5-0 with a 5-1 road victory over Juniata (1-4) on Saturday afternoon, making the trek to Huntingdon for the first time in program history. Despite the long bus ride, the Fords put on a dominating performance from the opening whistle, controlling the tempo throughout the 60 minutes of action. Haverford rattled off 20 shots to just two for the visitors, while earning 12 penalty corners and surrendering just two. Ravenel Davis continued her torrid start to the season, with a pair of goals on the afternoon, including the game-winner. Davis has six goals this week, including the game-winner in all three of Haverford's victories.

The Fords peppered the cage in the first quarter, to the tune of five shots, but didn't find the back of the cage until the second quarter. A flurry of shots in the 19th minute eventually led to Olivia Ahart finding Davis down low to open the scoring for the visitors. Haverford added on in the 23rd, with Amy Kim rattling the cage with her first career tally off an assist from fellow first year Zoey Despines.

After halftime, Dalia Bercow connected on a penalty stroke to give the Fords a 3-0 advantage in the 34th minute. Juniata got a goal back after converting on a penalty corner in the 39th minute, but Davis added her second of the game off a Haverford penalty corner in the 44th minute of action. Delaney Snowden then punched in the fifth Haverford goal of the contest in the opening minutes of the final period.

The contest was yet another chance for Haverford to display its stifling defensive pressure, a unit that limited the hosts to just the one shot on goal. Through five contests, Haverford is outscoring its opponents 15-4 and outshooting its opponents 119-26. Davis tallied six shots on target, while Snowden (5) and Ahart (3) also helped pace the attack.

The Fords are now 5-0 for the first time since a hot start to the 2017 season that resulted in a Centennial Conference semifinal appearance. A busy week gets underway with a visit from Elizabethtown on Wednesday (5 p.m.), before #9 Rowan visits Swan Field at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 18. The Fords will leave Haverford's campus just once in the next four weeks, a short jaunt to Bi-Co neighbor Bryn Mawr on September 29.
