HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College field hockey team (8-0, 1-0 CC) has matched its longest win streak in program history, taking an eighth straight victory on Saturday afternoon in a 4-1 triumph over McDaniel (2-6, 0-1 CC) on Swan Field. Haverford, out to its best start to a season in program history, last won eight straight games from October 5 to October 22 of the 1990 season.

The Fords were buoyed by yet another standout performance from senior captain Ravenel Davis, as the Richmond, Va. product matched a career best with six total points, notching a pair of goals and picking up a pair of assists to sink the Green Terror.

Haverford, receiving votes in the national poll, jetted out to a 4-0 lead before the visitors added a last-minute tally to get on the scoreboard in the waning moments. The Fords controlled the contest to the tune of a 24-5 shot advantage while earning 12 penalty corners to nine for McDaniel.

Dalia Bercow tallied a goal in the ninth minute, taking a feed from Ravenel Davis off a penalty corner and giving the Fords the early advantage. In the second quarter, it was time for Davis to find the back of the cage herself, also taking charge off a penalty corner as Olivia Ahart was credited with an assist in the 20th minute. Hungry for more, the Fords added a third goal just moments later, with Davis finding Anna Kirn down low with a one-time pass that was slotted into the cage in the 25th minute.

Kirn and Davis again teamed up in the fourth quarter, with Davis tallying her second of the contest in the 50th minute of action. With just 35 seconds remaining in regulation, Tori McArthur grabbed a redirection off a Hannah Roth save and buried a goal for the visitors to avoid the shutout.

Roth made two saves on the afternoon to pick up her eighth win of the season. The reigning NFHCA Division III National Defensive Player of the Week has played every minute in goal for the Fords this season. Davis notched 10 shots, including seven on frame, while Kirn rocketed five of her own, putting all of those attempts on target.

The explosive Haverford offense is now topping the conference leaderboards with Davis tallying 12 goals thus far, double the second-leading goal scorer in the Centennial. Davis is tops in points (26) and shots (46) whil Ahart also tops the conference with seven assists.

The Fords will now put their winning streak on the line against Bi-Co rival Bryn Mawr on Wednesday. The midweek road contest is slated for a 4:30 p.m. start.
