Field Hockey Reveals 2023 Schedule, 10 Home Games at Swan Field

Full 2023 Schedule

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Fresh off the heels of back-to-back appearances in the Centennial Conference postseason tournament, the Haverford College field hockey program has announced its 2023 schedule, with 17 total games and 10 home contests at Swan Field on the docket this fall.

The preseason schedule kicks off with the annual alumnae game on Saturday, August 26 at home, a friendly wrapped around scrimmages at home against York (Pa.) on August 22 and at Muhlenberg on August 29.

The regular season begins on Friday, September 1 for a home opener against local rival Eastern. In the same weekend, Haverford hosts Centre, as the Colonels make the trek from Danville, Kentucky. The September 3 matchup will be the first in program history for the Fords against a team from the Bluegrass State.

The Fords then embark on a pair of road contests, heading to New Jersey to face off with Stockton on Wednesday, September 6, before a trip to Alvernia on September 9. A four-game homestand then sees the Fords hosting four familiar opponents as Elizabethtown (Sept. 13), Rowan (Sept. 20), Dickinson (Sept. 23), and DeSales (Sept. 27) all make their way to Swan Field.

A highly anticipated conference opener with the Red Devils and a Saturday matinee at Gettysburg (Sept. 30) serve as an enticing prelude to an October slate jam-packed with Centennial action, as the Fords make the trip to the Eastern Shore of Maryland to do battle with Washington College (Oct. 4) before hosting perennial powerhouse Johns Hopkins (Oct. 7).

A Bi-Co battle and postseason rematch with Bryn Mawr (Oct. 11) comes before a trip to Franklin & Marshall (Oct. 14). Haverford then hosts Ursinus (Oct. 18) ahead of a jaunt to McDaniel (Oct. 21). Field Hockey finishes the regular season slate with a pair of home games against Muhlenberg (Oct. 25) and the traditional Senior Day contest against Hood Trophy rival Swarthmore (Oct 28).

The Centennial Conference postseason begins on Halloween (Oct. 31) with FIrst Round action, before semifinals (Nov. 2) and the championship game (Nov. 4) at the site of the higher seed in each matchup.

All Haverford home games are streamed live via the Centennial Conference Digital Network. The digital network is also available to Centennial fans through a customized mobile app, online, and through CC streaming applications for Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Android TV and Roku devices.
