HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College field hockey junior midfielder Zoey Despines has been named an All-Centennial Conference honorable mention, the Centennial Conference announced in the annual postseason awards release on Tuesday afternoon.

Despines, who hails from Barrington, R.I., led the Fords in assists this past season, providing four helpers in 2023. A presence in the middle of the field for Haverford, the junior midfielder also found the back of the cage once this season, as she scored the game-winner, her first career tally for the Scarlet and Black, against McDaniel on October 21. The one goal and four assists of the course of the 2023 campaign totaled six points on this season, fifth-best on the squad.

Starting all 17 games this season, Despines rattled off 23 shots and 12 shots on goal, good for fourth best on the team in each category respectively.

Abigail Trapp was also honored Tuesday, as the sophomore earned a spot on the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team. Trapp appeared in all 17 games this season for the Fords, tallying an assist in the 3-0 win against Centre in early September.

Since 2013, the Field Hockey team, led by Head Coach Jackie Cox, has produced 22 All-Conference selections, most recently seeing seniors Olivia Ahart (first-team) and Delaney Snowden (honorable mention) secure honors in 2022.

The end of the year awards for Centennial Conference Field Hockey were highlighted by a duo from Johns Hopkins, as Siena Urbanski won Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Year, and her teammate Liz Falterer was tabbed Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

Meghan Dole, a first-year goalkeeper from Franklin & Marshall, earned Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year, while the coaching staff of Johns Hopkins received Centennial Conference Coaching Staff of the Year.

Haverford finished 2023 with two wins in the Centennial, and seven victories overall in a very strong Centennial Conference for field hockey. One highlight from the 2023 season occurred on September 20, when the Scarlet and Black took down #10 Rowan 4-3.
