Program Record Six Field Hockey Student-Athletes Named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction

Full NFHCA Scholars of Distinction Announcement

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Six members of the Haverford College field hockey team were named 2023 Scholars of Distinction by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NHFCA), the organization announced in a release on Monday morning.

The six honorees more than doubled the previous best from Haverford, as three members of the team were honored during both the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

An impressive total of 509 undergraduate student-athletes have earned well-deserved recognition as NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction. This distinguished program honors undergraduate student-athletes who have exhibited exceptional academic excellence, achieving a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher throughout the fall semester of the 2023-24 academic year.

The honorees from Haverford included Anna Bradley, Amelia Bredbenner, Louisa Coughlin, Zora Dallmann, Erica Pardón, and Ileana Rodriguez. Bradley earns the distinction for a fourth time, the first four-time honoree in program history, while the other honorees are first-time recipients of the award.

Last week, 21 members of the Haverford program were named to the Division III National Academic Squad. Two additional Division III academic awards are yet to be unveiled  — the NFHCA National Academic Team awards on February 21, and concluding with the announcement of the National Scholar-Athlete on February 26.
