The William W. Ambler ’45 Award is presented by the Haverford College Department of Athletics to the senior student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average.
The Fords defeated rivals William and Mary, University of Virginia, University of Maryland, and the US Naval Academy. Haverford's only loss on the day came to host Johns Hopkins.
Haverford competed in the Philadelphia Invitational, hosted by the University of Philadelphia. The Fords had multiple individuals post winning records on the day, led by 12 victories from Eric Gardner.
The Fords had the odds stacked against them as the only division III squad in the field, but still had individuals find great success over the weekend.
