HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's lacrosse team closed out its home slate with a 9-6 loss to visiting Ursinus College on Wednesday night in Centennial Conference action at Swan Field.

Freshmen Chase Williams and Evan Dorman paced the Fords (1-12, 0-7 CC) with two goals each while sophomore Tav Hafner and freshman Richard Greenberg chipped in with a goal apiece.

Senior Christian Clay tallied the 100th point of his career with an assist on Williams' second-period goal. Sophomore Hunter Senter also registered an assist in the game.

The Bears (8-6, 4-3) led 2-0 after the first 15 minutes of play before Haverford answered back with consecutive goals from freshmen Evan Dorman and Richard Greenberg.

Mark Stratton's 15th of the season restored Ursinus' two-goal lead with four minutes left until the break but Williams gave the Fords a boost with his first of the night 30 seconds later.

Trailing 4-3 at intermission, Haverford looked to rally but the Bears scored four of the first five goals of second-half action to secure the victory.

Sophomore goalie Eric Caliendo (1-12) made 10 saves in the loss.

Jake Weber and Dylan Spangenberg led the Ursinus attack with two goals and an assist apiece. Sophomore Brian Neff (8-6) earned the victory in between the pipes with seven saves.

The Fords finish the season on Saturday with a trip to Swarthmore College for a Centennial contest against the rival Garnet beginning at 1 p.m.
