Geppert, Caliendo Named All-Centennial Conference

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Midfielder Geoff Geppert and goalkeeper Eric Caliendo of the Haverford College men's lacrosse team have been recognized as honorable mention All-Centennial Conference performers. Additionally, Caliendo was named to the conference's sportsmanship team, while a Centennial Conference-leading total of eight Haverford student-athletes were named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.

In the midfield, Geppert led Haverford in all the major offensive categories, including goals (25), assists (8), points (33), shots (99), shots on goal (58), and man-up goals (4). The senior captain also ranked third on the team with 33 ground balls and caused six turnovers during the 2015 season. Geppert scored in 11 of Haverford's 14 games on the season. His highest goal output came during Haverford's 18-6 victory against Mount St. Mary in which he scored five goals. Geppert also had four goals in both of the Fords' Centennial Conference victories against Swarthmore and Muhlenberg. He added two assists in the 14-8 win against Swarthmore to close the year with a season-high six points.

A three-year starter in goal for the Fords, Caliendo played every minute as the anchor of the Haverford defense during the 2015 season. The Haverford junior stopped 53.9-percent of the shots on goal he faced during the season, compiling 159 saves throughout his 14 games in net. Caliendo was called on to make 10 or more saves in 11 of Haverford's 14 games this season. His high for the year came with 16 saves against Cabrini. Other notable games for the Haverford goalie included 12 saves on 16 shots on goal during the overtime contest against McDaniel and stopping 11 of the 16 shots on goal during the Centennial Conference victory against Muhlenberg. Caliendo led the team with 49 ground balls and caused 13 turnovers on the season.

The Fords' eight honorees on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll represented the most of any team in the conference. Caliendo and Geppert also earned recognition on this list. Haverford's duo represented two of the seven players in the conference to be named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll and earn All-Centennial Conference playing accolades. To be eligible for the academic honor roll, a student-athlete must be in at least sophomore academic standing, have a 3.4 cumulative grade-point-average or above, and have played in at least 50-percent of the team's games as a starter or key reserve. Evan Dorman, Andrew Fenaroli, Will Holden, Ben Miltenberg, Jack Russ, and Brandon Smith were also honored on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the Fords.
