HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Haverford College men's lacrosse team saw its three-game winning streak snapped at the hands of No. 15 Stevens on Saturday. Tied at one in the early portion of the second quarter, the Ducks (6-1) scored the last four goals in each half to come away with a 9-2 victory against the visiting Fords (4-3).

Patrick Girard and Jack Russ provided the offense for Haverford with their respective goals. In net, Eric Caliendo turned away 12 of the shots he faced in the defeat. The Haverford defense also caused 10 turnovers on the afternoon, but a four save outing from Carson White and 33-14 advantage in shots from Stevens kept the Fords from mounting a rally. Caliendo registered a team-best three caused turnovers on Saturday.

Caliendo stopped three of the four shots on goal that he faced in the opening quarter to help his team stay within striking distance. That strong defensive effort held the Ducks' attack down long enough for Girard to record his sixth goal of the season with 12:19 remaining in the opening half of play.

Tied at one, the Ducks scored four straight goals in a span of just over six minutes to carry a 5-1 advantage into the second half.

Haverford stopped the offensive run when Russ recorded his fourth goal of the season just over four minutes into the third quarter. His goal was set up by Isaac Krier, who was credited with his third assist of the season on the play. Krier now has a team-best 15 points as he is also tied for the team lead with 12 goals.

However, a second 4-0 run from the Ducks over the final two quarters stymied the Fords' attempt to force a comeback. In addition to White conceding just two goals in the crease, the Stevens' defense forced 17 of Haverford's 23 turnovers on the afternoon to stifle the Fords' attack.

Today's contest was the Fords' final test before the always-challenging Centennial Conference schedule opens up next week. Men's lacrosse will begin conference play on Swan Field next Saturday at 1 p.m. against No. 10 Gettysburg.
