Centennial Conference Preseason Poll

Centennial Conference Team-by-Team Preview

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's lacrosse team has been picked to finish seventh in the annual voting of the conference's head coaches. The Fords received 20 points in the Centennial Conference preseason poll.

Gettysburg was tabbed as the preseason favorite with seven of the nine first-place votes. Ursinus received the other two first-place votes to finish second. Franklin & Marshall, Dickinson, and Swarthmore rounded out the top five teams in the release.

Haverford improved its win total for the second straight season, finishing 7-8 overall in 2016. The Fords finished in a tie for fifth last year after controlling their own playoff destiny heading into the regular season finale against Swarthmore. The Fords ultimately missed the playoffs by just one goal after falling by an 8-7 score to the fourth-place Garnet.

Despite just three seniors on this year's roster, the Fords return eight of their 10 starters from a season ago. In total, 18 of Haverford's returners played in at least 10 of the team's 15 games last spring. Chandler Todd (second-team All-CC) and PJ Jackson (honorable mention All-CC) highlight the Fords' returners.

Men's lacrosse opens its season this weekend with the annual matchup against Cabrini slated for Saturday, February 18 with faceoff at 12 p.m. The Centennial Conference schedule opens on Saturday, March 25 against McDaniel.
