PJ Jackson Honored as Third-Team All-American

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The postseason accolades continue to roll in for PJ Jackson. Already a first-team All-Centennial Conference selection, the first Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year in program history, and with an invitation to Friday's North-South Senior All-Star Game, Jackson was most recently named a USILA third-team All-American.

Jackson is now the highest ranked All-American in program history as he is joins Max Hjelm '11 (third-team in 2010) and Joe Bannon '12 (third-team in 2011) in that category. In total, men's lacrosse players at Haverford have combined for 22 All-American awards. Twenty of those honors have come since the end of the 2007 season.

Jackson was voted the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year by conference coaches earlier this spring after the team captain led the Fords in both caused turnovers (28) and ground balls (46). He was one of four players who started all 15 games for Haverford this season and had a caused turnover in 14 of those contests, including nine games with two or more caused turnovers. His best individual game came when he forced five caused turnovers in the 5-1 win at Gwynedd Mercy.

Additionally, Jackson collected multiple ground balls in each of Haverford's final 14 games. He secured a career-best three ground balls against Stockton, Gettysburg, and Ursinus this season. He also scored goals in transition against Cabrini and Dickinson. The Gregory Kannerstein '63 Award recipient at the Senior Student-Athlete Banquet, he graduates from Haverford ranked third all-time with 72 caused turnovers. His 1.87 caused turnovers per game this year was the eighth best mark for a single season in program history.
