Dylan Slack Honored as CC Defensive Player of the Week

Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Dylan Slack has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the third time in his career following the Fords' 6-4 win against Ursinus on Saturday. Slack won this weekly honor twice a season ago.

The Fords' junior goalie came up big in the crease during a crucial Centennial Conference contest as he stopped 17 shots, denying 81 percent of the shots on goal over the weekend. His efforts in cage helped Haverford topple the Bears despite being outshot by a 38-27 margin. Slack did not allow a goal until midway through the third quarter, denying the first nine Ursinus shots on goal. He stopped five shots during the final 15 minutes to deny any chances of the Bears' comeback bid.

Slack is currently leading the Centennial Conference with 152 saves this season while his 58.7 save percentage is the second best among his conference peers. He is allowing just 8.49 goals per game. His career goals against average of 8.52 is currently the fourth best career total in Haverford history.

Men's lacrosse is currently in the thick of the race for the final spot in the Centennial Conference Tournament. The Fords have one game remaining at Swarthmore this coming Saturday at 3 p.m. A victory, along with some help from other teams around the conference, would get Haverford into the Centennial Conference Tournament for the first time since the 2011 season.
