HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's lacrosse team has unveiled its 2022 schedule. The Fords will play a total of 15 contests, including seven home dates at Swan Field. The season begins with a trip up the Main Line to Cabrini to do battle with a Cavaliers side that has won 20 consecutive conference championships, a stretch that includes the 2019 national championship.
Haverford hosts the home opener in a midweek matchup with Stevens (Feb. 23), welcoming the Ducks to campus for the first time since a 2019 meeting on Swan Field. The two sides have played in the non-conference slate each season dating back to 2016. A weekend matchup with Mary Washington (Feb. 26) then represents the first matchup between those two sides since 1999.
Men's Lacrosse heads north for its spring break trip, with contests in the Empire State at Skidmore (March 5) and Ithaca (March 8), before returning to campus for a tilt with Susquehanna (March 12). The non-conference portion of the season wraps up on Saturday, March 19 as the Fords head to Kean for a 1 p.m. opening face-off. The Fords have not faced off with Kean in over 30 years, with the last matchup coming in March of 1991.
The first conference contest is a showdown at Gettysburg (March 26) before an always spirited home matchup with Dickinson (Apr. 2). A trip to McDaniel (Apr. 9) comes before a two-game homestand higlighted by a midweek night contest versus Ursinus (Apr. 13) and a Saturday matinee with Washington College (Apr. 16). A road swing with contests at Muhlenberg (Apr. 20) and Hood Trophy rival Swarthmore (Apr. 23) dots the penultimate week of the regular season before the regular season finale at home against Franklin & Marshall (Apr. 30).
The 2022 men's lacrosse season will mark head coach Nick Taylor's fourth campaign leading the Fords.
