Sobrero Sr., was a three-sport athlete and All-American football player at Santa Clara who is known in college football history for the creation of the “pogo pass” … Grandfather, Frank C. Sobrero Jr., was a two-sport athlete and All-American in basketball at Santa Clara who joined his father as the only father/son duo in the Santa Clara Hall of Fame.
