SWARTHMORE, Pa. – No. 9/8 Swarthmore College ended the Haverford College men's soccer team's Centennial Conference postseason hopes with a 2-0 victory Saturday evening at Clothier Field. Morgan Langley scored both goals for the Garnet.

A relatively quiet first half with just three shots on goal looked like it was going to end scoreless. However, in the 43rd minute, Kieran Reichart's corner kick was in a perfect spot for Morgan Langley to put a header past Fords keeper Nick Kahn.

Late in the second half Swarthmore (14-1-2, 7-0-2 CC) tacked on another goal as Phillipe Celestin fed Langley in the box for his second goal.

Before Swarthmore extended its lead Haverford (8-6-2, 4-4-1 CC) got three shots on goal in the final 45 minutes, but Garnet keeper David D'Annunzio stopped each of them. Alejandro Rettig y Martinez took a shot in the 79th minute from inside the box which sailed high. Five minutes later Rettig y Martinez took another shot from the left wing which D'Annunzio saved.

Kahn finished the night with five saves while D'Annunzio made three.

With all fall competitions between the two schools complete, Haverford holds a comfortable, 5-1, advantage in the Hood Trophy standings.

Haverford ends its season with eight victories, the most since 2003 (7) and the program's first winning season since 2000 (10-7).
