SCRANTON, Pa. - Senior Jamie Reingruber scored his first goal of the season with less than five minutes remaining on the clock  to help the Haverford College men's soccer team upend host Marywood University, 3-2, in non-conference action Wednesday night.

The Fords (3-2) faced an early 1-0 deficit in the contest as Marywood's Paul Fedorczyk tallied his first of the season midway through the first half. Turning up the defense, Haverford held the Pacers (2-2-1) to just two shots throughout the final twenty minutes of the opening stanza.

Brady Seitz, converting on a breakaway, came through with his first collegiate goal with just under 10 minutes remaining before intermission to knot the game at 1-1.

The second half saw the Fords continue to set the tone as they registered seven of the first eight shots. Senior Matt Gorski's fourth goal of the season put Haverford on top, 2-1, in the 67th minute of the contest. The Fords nearly struck again less than a minute later but Seitz, who also registered an assist on Gorski's tally, hit the post.

After the Pacers tied the score at 2-2 with a little less than seven minutes remaining, Reingruber quickly answered with the game-winning tally as he headed a long ball from classmate Dan Garfing past Marywood's Shane Quinn.

Haverford outshot Marywood 16-9 overall. Andriy Mshanetskyy (3-2) made one save to earn his third win of the season while Quinn (1-2-1) registered three saves in a losing effort.

"I am proud of the way our guys battled and found a way to win on the road," said head coach Shane Rineer. "It's an important victory and one that will help us build some momentum entering conference play."

The Fords open the Centennial Conference portion of their schedule on Sunday when they travel to Johns Hopkins University for a 2:30 p.m. contest.
