No. 22 Dickinson Stops Men's Soccer, 3-1

CARLISLE, Pa. – The Haverford College men's soccer team suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of No. 22 Dickinson on Saturday evening. Trailing 2-0 in the second half, the Fords (8-4, 3-2 CC) scored in the 67th minute to pull within a goal. However, the nationally-ranked Red Devils (10-2-1, 5-0 CC) proved worthy of that ranking with an additional goal in the 76th minute before the final whistle blew on that 3-1 final.

Dickinson opened the scoring in the contest's 23rd minute when Isaac Pitkow recorded his first goal of the season off a long cross from Jonathan Harper. That same duo for the Red Devils would also connect in the 56th minute as Pitkow also recorded his second goal of the season on a cross from Harper. Harper's two assists give him six on the season.

The Fords gained some momentum when Will Corkery scored his first goal of the season on a long strike from the left side. That strike cut the deficit to a single goal with just over 20 minutes to play. Corkery's goal was the third of his career. The sophomore also has a team-leading four assists on the year, giving him six points on the season.

Haverford had a pair of chances to tie the match in the ensuing minutes following Corkery's tally, but sent both of those shot attempts wide of the net. The Red Devils added their insurance tally in the 77th minute when Nate Latshaw scored off consecutive passes from Drew Carneal and Braeden Kelly.

The Fords finished the contest with 14 shots on the night, putting half of those attempts on goal. Reed Milbrath made six saves for Dickinson to record the victory. Tejan Walcott and Corkery each took three shots for Haverford on the day, while Sam Yarosh and Matthew Clausen each had two shots in the contest. In goal, Sam Miller made seven saves for Haverford.

After wrapping up a stretch of four matches in eight days, men's soccer will have a couple days to rest up before traveling to Catholic on Wednesday. That match, which will be the final non-conference contest of the regular season for the Fords, is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
