Sam Yarosh Earns Third CC Player of the Week Nod

Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – For the third time this season, Sam Yarosh has been named the Centennial Conference's Offensive Player of the Week. Yarosh's latest weekly accolade comes after logging two goals and an assist during a 2-0 week for the team. The Fords (11-3, 6-0 CC) have now won nine straight contests overall.

The senior captain's standout week gives him 13 goals and 30 points for the year, both the best marks in the Centennial Conference. His goal against Muhlenberg came with just 1:30 to play in regulation time and broke a 1-1 tie. He now has six game-winning goals, which is also a Centennial Conference best and ranks him third overall in Division III just behind the co-national leaders who each have seven. Yarosh is ranked 16th nationally in goals and 22nd among Division III players in points.

The Fords began their week with a 3-0 victory over visiting Catholic. In that matchup, Yarosh tallied in an insurance goal in the 54th minute of play. Yarosh also set up the game's final goal in the 62nd minute of play when he found Brady Seitz breaking to the end line for the finish. Yarosh now has four assists on the season.

Saturday's late game heroics helped the Fords exact some revenge from last year's Centennial Conference Championship match. The Fords and Mules were tied on the scoreboard for 84:03 of playing time Saturday. Yarosh broke that tie for good as he finished a corner kick from Will Corkery with just 1:30 left in the clock for the victory. In addition to Yarosh's scoring exploits, Corkery's assist was his 11th on the year, ranking him first in the conference and fourth in the country.

Haverford's nine straight victories are currently the sixth-longest active streak in Division III this season. The Fords will be looking for their program-record fifth 10-match winning streak in program history this weekend against visiting Franklin & Marshall. Haverford is also in the midst of a nine-game home Centennial Conference winning streak that dates back to the 2013 season and is tied for the second longest home conference winning streak in program history.

Both of those winning streaks will be put to the ultimate test Saturday when No. 1 Franklin & Marshall comes to Walton Field for a 2 p.m. start. The Diplomats will take on Muhlenberg this Tuesday before coming to Haverford on Saturday with first place in the conference on the line.
