Yarosh Named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Men's soccer senior captain Sam Yarosh was named to the 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. Yarosh was one of three forwards that represented District III, an area that covers all of Pennsylvania. Yarosh will now advance for voting on the CoSIDA Academic All-American ballot with the national team to be announced on Friday, November 20.

A two-year captain for the Fords, Yarosh has started all 71 matches that he has appeared in over his four years at Haverford. This season, he is leading the conference with 15 goals and 35 points. His six game-winning goals are also the top mark in the conference. He has scored 31 goals and assisted on 11 more during his collegiate career. Yarosh has scored a goal in seven straight matches and 11 of the team's 16 overall. Haverford has come out on the winning side in each of the 11 games in which he has registered a goal.

Among the Division III leaders, Yarosh is ranked fifth in the country in game-winning goals as he is just one off the pace held by four other players. He ranks 20th overall in points and 24th among his national peers in total points. This scoring outburst has helped the Fords rack up a program-record 11 victories in a row heading into the regular season finale. Those 11 consecutive wins stand as the third longest active streak in Division III.

Capping a standout career that has already seen him selected as both a first-team All-Centennial Conference and third-team all-region honoree, Yarosh ranks third in program history with 10 career game-winning goals. He is eighth in school history in game started (71), 12th in goals (31), and 13th in points (73). His senior season also ranks among the all-time greats. He has tied the program record with six game-winning goals and ranks 10th and 11th currently in for a single season with his respective goal and point totals.

Men's soccer has already clinched the right to host the Centennial Conference Tournament next weekend on Walton Field. The Fords will be looking to become the first team since Johns Hopkins in 2006 to go unbeaten and untied in Centennial Conference play during the regular season finale at 3:30 p.m. this Saturday against Swarthmore. Before the match, the team will honor Yarosh along with the other three members of the graduating class in Ian Alers, Brady Seitz and Colin Seitz.
