Yarosh Named to NSCAA Scholar All-America Team

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Sam Yarosh continues to add to his growing list of accolades with his most recent recognition on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) 2015 Scholar All-America Team. Yarosh earned first-team Scholar All-America and first-team Scholar All-East Region recognition. He is the first player in program history to be named a Scholar All-American.

Yarosh headlined the individual award winners for the men's soccer team during a record-breaking 2015 season. Earlier in the fall, he became the program's first All-American since 1984 with his second team recognition by the NSCAA. The 2015 Centennial Conference Player of the Year – also a first in program history – led the conference in both goals (17) and points (39). He set a school record as he tied with teammate Will Corkery as each posted seven game-winning goals on the season.

Off the field, the two-time team captain earned just as much mention for his work in the classroom. Highlighting those awards was his selection as a CoSIDA first-team All-American after he also earned first-team CoSIDA All-District III accolades. More recently, Yarosh was named the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Performer of the Year for men's soccer, an award that spans all three NCAA Divisions in the local area. The 2015 season was the second time he earned mention on the academic all-area team. Additionally, Yarosh capped his senior season with his third selection to the Centennial Conference's Academic Honor Roll and was named the Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's soccer.

Leading his team on the field, the Fords won a program-record 18 matches this fall. The team made its deepest NCAA Tournament run in program history, advancing to the Elite Eight before suffering a 1-0 overtime defeat on Walton Field with the Fords' home turf serving as a host site for both the regional and sectional rounds of the NCAA Tournament. Haverford finished the year ranked No. 6 in both the NSCAA and D3Soccer.com polls. The Fords also won a program-record 16 straight matches during the year, a stretch that saw the team go 9-0 in conference play and then take home the program's second conference championship in the past four seasons on Walton Field.
