Nick Jannelli Named Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Freshman Nick Jannelli has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week as announced by conference officials. Jannelli earns the weekly honor after scoring in each of the Fords' Centennial Conference wins against Washington College and Gettysburg during the past week. His honor comes just one week after Maclyn Willigan was named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Jannelli started his week with Haverford's final goal in the 3-0 win against Washington College. His first goal this week came on a direct kick from 35 yards out. The Fords' freshman came back on Saturday and scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Gettysburg to keep Haverford unbeaten and untied in Centennial Conference play. In the overtime session, Jannelli took on multiple Gettysburg defenders before creating enough space to finish the game-winning goal.

For the season, Jannelli has scored a team-leading five goals and added two more assists. Both his goal and point totals rank second in the Centennial Conference. Four of Jannelli's five goals have come in Centennial Conference play as he is leading the conference in both goals (4) and points (9) in matches versus conference opponents.

The Fords (7-1-2, 4-0 CC) are two points clear of second place Franklin & Marshall through the first four conference meetings of the year. Haverford is five points clear of third place and has won a program-record 13 straight Centennial Conference regular season matches and is unbeaten in its last 15 Centennial Conference matches. Haverford is also unbeaten in its last 15 Centennial Conference home matches dating back to the 2013 season with the last 14 of those results being outright victories.

Men's soccer will turn its attention to non-conference action for its next home game as Rutgers-Camden comes to campus this Wednesday for a 4 p.m. start time. Haverford will then look to carry its success on the road this Saturday as it travels to Dickinson for a 6 p.m. showdown of last year's Centennial Conference Championship match.
