HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College men's soccer first-year Dylan Ioffreda added to his accolades following an 11 save shutout against Johns Hopkins as the Fords' rookie has been named the Division III Player of the Week as announced by the United Soccer Coaches. Eight student-athletes representing all three NCAA divisions, as well as two representatives from the junior college ranks, received Player of the Week honors.

Ioffreda registered 20 saves and one shutout against a pair of ranked opponents last week. He made 11 saves in the 1-0 win over No. 3 Johns Hopkins and had nine saves in a tie against No. 17 Rowan. Those 11 saves allowed the Fords to overcome a shot disparity as Kevin Kaufman tallied in the first half for the only goal that Haverford needed.

Splitting time in goal so far this season, Iofredda has started three of his five appearances and holds a 2-0-2 record as the goalie of record. He has posted a 0.54 GAA in 332:40 of playing time and has stopped 92.6% of the shots on goal he has faced. Ioffreda is currently leading the conference in both total saves (26) and save percentage. His save percentage is ranked sixth in all of Division III while his GAA also ranks among the top 30 nationally.

The Fords are off to a 3-1-2 start overall and have recorded shutouts in four of the team's first six matches. Those four shutouts rank as the second-highest total among all teams in the Centennial Conference.

Men's soccer has another huge week on the docket as the Fords travel to Rutgers-Camden this Wednesday for a 7 p.m. non-conference match before returning to Centennial Conference play this Saturday against Franklin & Marshall at 1 p.m. Rutgers-Camden is off to a 7-2 start on the season and just beat No. 19 Montclair State in its last outing. The Franklin & Marshall contest on Walton Field will be a rematch of last year's Centennial Conference Championship match which resulted in a 3-2 double overtime victory for Haverford.
