Noah Schwab Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College men's soccer player Noah Schwab has been named to the 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team. Selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), this award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. With no competitive seasons for the fall sports this academic year, honorees were selected based off of their career accomplishments.

The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early July.

Schwab was selected as a junior team captain for the Fords during this past year. A starting midfielder since making his debut with Haverford, Schwab was an honorable mention All-Centennial Conference pick in 2019 and helped lead the Fords to a Centennial Conference Championship and automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament during his rookie season in 2018. In addition to those honors, Schwab has also been recognized on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll during both of his eligible seasons.

A physics major with a minor in philosophy, Schwab also holds a concentration in scientific computing. A force on both ends of the field, he scored the game-winning goal against Cabrini to start the 2019 season and later assisted on the game-winning goal in overtime during the comeback victory over Muhlenberg. He then bookended the regular season with the game-winning goal during the playoff-clinching win versus rival Swarthmore. Schwab also scored goals against Cabrini and Rowan during his first-year with the team that went on to capture the conference title.

No strangers to academic success, Haverford posted the highest GPA among all men's soccer programs across all collegiate levels during the 2019-20 academic year. Awards for this past year have yet to be announced. The Fords have also advanced to the Centennial Conference Tournament during each of their past nine competitive seasons, including four Centennial Conference Championships over that time.
