Max Mouer Named Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford sophomore defender Max Mouer has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced in a release on Tuesday.

The Houston, Texas product led a Haverford defense that held its two opponents scoreless and to just six total shots on goal. The Fords' backline has now recorded three consecutive shutouts, including 1-0 victories over Rutgers-Camden and Ursinus last week. Mouer helped anchor a lockdown defensive effort that constantly denied Ursinus as the Bears looked for a goal in the second half on Saturday. The sophomore also contributed on the other end of the field, scoring the game-winning goal with a lofty, floating strike directly from a corner kick against Rutgers Camden.

Mourer has logged 11 starts this season after seeing eight appearances during his first year campaign in 2019. This is the second win for Haverford this season, as fellow sophomore Alex Millones was named the Offensive Player of the Week after kickstarting a 2-0 week for the Fords in mid-September.

The Fords are right back in action today against Drew. The contest on Walton Field is slated to begin at 4 p.m. before Haverford jumps back into conference play at McDaniel on Saturday.
