Centennial Conference Reveals Men's Soccer Preseason Poll

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's soccer team was predicted to finish eighth in the Centennial Conference standings by a vote of the conference's head coaches, the conference office announced in a release on Wednesday morning. Johns Hopkins was picked to win the conference crown.

The Blue Jays picked up eight first place votes with a total of 79 voting points. A pair of other teams received a first place vote in the poll. Franklin & Marshall (#2, 72 total voting points) and defending champion Muhlenberg (#4, 58 total voting points) each picked up a first place tally. Hopkins is ranked seventh in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason National Rankings, while F&M is 18th.

Gettysburg (57 points) was picked third, with Washington College projected fifth (56). Dickinson (40) rounded out the projected playoff teams with Swarthmore (33), Haverford and McDaniel (21 each) and Ursinus (13) rounding out the poll.

All of the action begins on Friday as a home contest with MIT (4 p.m.) serves as a Labor Day Weekend prelude to what is a jam-packed September slate. The Fords take an early season road trip to Susquehanna (Sept. 5) before returning home for action at the annual Jimmy Mills Classic. The always highly anticipated two-day invitational sees the Fords facing off with a pair of NJAC foes in William Paterson (Sept. 9) and Rowan (Sept. 10).

The Fords return some top talent with defender Max Mouer (2021 All-CC) and goalkeeper Dylan Ioffreda (2022 All-CC) each returning for their senior seasons. In total, Haverford returns all but six goals and all but 18 points from a season ago with Andrew Fritz (7 points), Caleb Miller (6 points), Alex Millones (6 points), Tomas Ascoli (5 points) all returning from solid campaigns. A total of 31 All-Centennial Conference players and eight all-Region performers return across the conference.

All Haverford home games are streamed live via the Centennial Conference Digital Network. The digital network is also available to Centennial fans through a customized mobile app, online, and through CC streaming applications for Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Android TV and Roku devices.
