Mike Discavage joined the Haverford College men’s soccer team as an assistant coach prior to the start of the 2018 season and immediately helped the program win its third Centennial Conference Championship in four seasons. Haverford advanced to the NCAA Tournament where it fell in penalty kicks. Discavage helped seven players earn All-Centennial Conference accolades, including 2018 CC Player of the Year Nick Jannelli ’20.

Discavage, a 2016 graduate of the University of Rhode Island, brings a decorated playing background as a Division I student-athlete. While earning his degree in pharmaceutical sciences at Rhode Island, Discavage played two years. Playing at Council Rock South High School, Discavage garnered all-state accolades and was ranked the No. 1 defender in Pennsylvania by ESPN in 2009. He was named to ESPN High School’s starting XI for Pennsylvania during his senior season.

Discavage comes to Haverford after spending one season as the assistant coach at Harriton High School and the Lower Merion Soccer Club where he led Harriton to its first state tournament appearance in 10 years. He currently holds a USSF F Coaching License and is pursuing advanced courses, including goalkeeper certificates, through that training program.
