Schoch moves up to 10th in nation with Last Chance race result

NEW YORK CITY – Haverford College's Tim Schoch and Eric Arnold clocked career indoor best times Saturday night at the Columbia Last Chance Meet, with Schoch moving up to 10th on the national performance list in the 800 meter run and Arnold climbing to 25th in the mile run.

Schoch posted a seventh-place time of 1 minute, 52.37 seconds at the meet hosted by Columbia University in the New Balance Track & Field Center at The Armory. His time was the fastest of all Division III runners in the event. Teammate Andrew Golato was just off his best time, finishing in 15th with a time of 1:55.72.

In the mile, Arnold posted the fastest D-III time in the event, 4:11.66, while teammate Michael Riccio was less than a second off his career indoor best, posting a time of 4:18.22 on Saturday.

National championship selections will be released by the NCAA on Monday, March 5. The NCAA Division III 2012 Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships will be hosted by Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, on March 9-10.
