GRINNELL, Iowa – Haverford College's Tim Schoch and Jordan Schilit raced to All-American status early Friday evening at the NCAA Division III 2012 Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Grinnell College in the Charles Benson Bear '30 Recreaton and Athletic Center.

In the team scoring, the duo combined to score seven points which allowed Haverford to finish 26th at the meet which was won by North Central (Ill.) College with 48 points.

Schoch was fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 1 minute 54.06 seconds. Winner Mike Hutton of the University of St. Thomas, the top seed after Friday's preliminary heats, captured the event with a time of 1:52.26. Schoch entered Saturday's championship final as the No. 7 seed.

Twenty minutes later Shilit took to the oval and picked up his all-American tag with a seventh-place finish in the 5,000 meter run, posting a time of 14:25.64. Tim Nelson of the University of Wisconson-Stout won the event with a winning time of 14:11.80.

The all-American honor is Schoch's third in track & field -- two times indoor, once outdoor -- while Schilit earns his first track all-American mention after running to the honor in the past two cross country seasons.
