HAVERFORD, Pa. – Richard Mendelsohn (pictured), Daniel Stackman, and Gebby Keny posted solid times for the men's indoor track & field team Thursday afternoon as Haverford College hosted the annual Haverford Invitational at The Gary Lutnick Tennis & Track Center in Alumni Field House.

Off the track, Michael Iannacone, Chaz Schneider and Jeffrey Ainsley registered strong performances in their respective field events.

Stackman, a junior, was fourth in the mile, posting a time of 4 minutes, 36.49 seconds which was 0.01 seconds off his career-best time. His finish is the fourth-fastest in the event by a Haverford runner this winter.

Keny was fourth in the 400 meter run crossing the finish in 52.63 seconds which rates second this winter for the Fords in the event.

In the 3,000, Mendelsohn raced to a time of sixth-place time of 9:18.91. Thursday was his first time racing the event and he edged out teammate David Marsico whose seventh-place time of 9:24.94 was his career-best by 25 seconds.

Ainsley, a freshman, doubled up on the day with a pair of third-place finishes. His best toss in the shot put measured 10.31 meters (33 feet, 10 inches) and his best leap of the day in the triple jump was 12.05m (39-6.5). Ainsley's shot put distance is second-farthest on the team this winter.

In the high jump, freshman Chaz Schneider cleared a winning height of 1.55m (5-1). Pole-vaulter Michael Iannacone cleared a winning-height of 3.90m (12-9.5).

The Fords will take a limited squad to their next meet, Saturday in Boston where they will compete in Boston University's Terrier Classic. The team follows that trip by hosting the Seamus McElligott Meet on Saturday, Feb. 2 in the Field House.
