HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College hosted the annual Seamus McElligott Invitational on Saturday with several Fords from the men's indoor track & field team posting career or season-best results at The Gary Lutnick Tennis & Track Center in Alumni Field House.

The Fords ran to the top three places in the 5,000-meter run as Christopher Stadler captured the event title with a time of 14 minutes, 23.26 seconds, his career best by 19 seconds. Peter Kissin was second (14:28.79) with a new career mark followed by teammate Jordan Schilit (14:29.79) in third.

Stadler's time, with many of Saturday's meets already entered into the national performance lists hosted by the online Track & Field Results Reporting System, sits atop the national listing in the 5,000 with Kissin in third and Schilit in fourth.

Another Ford with a career best Saturday was David Colletta who was ninth in the mile with a time of 4:28.39. Haverford's Michael Riccio finished second in the event with a time, 4:21.58, that was within four seconds of his career mark.

A pair of Haverford runners raced near the front of the pack in the 800 as freshman Charlie Marquardt was second with senior Ivo Milic-Strkalj finishing third. Marquardt (1:56.98) was running his first collegiate 800 while Milic-Strkalj's time of 1:57.04 was his season best.

In the field events, Michael Iannacone, Robert Parry and Alex Smith all registered season best performances.

Iannacone cleared a height of 3.95 meters (12 feet, 11.5 inches) in the pole vault to finish fourth. In the shot put, Parry's best toss of 10.86m (35-7.75) was good for seventh while Smith finished 13th with a throw of 9.76m (32-0.25) on his final attempt.

Haverford will split its squad next weekend with the majority of the team heading to the Lafayette/Rider Meet in New York City on Saturday while a select few will attend the Tufts Cupid Challenge in Medford, Mass.
