Postseason honors begin with Mideast Region award for Stadler

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released on Wednesday afternoon its Division III indoor track & field region award winners and Haverford College's Christopher Stadler was tabbed the Mideast Region indoor track athlete of the year for the second straight campaign.

A senior, Stadler ranks in the top six nationally at both the 3,000- and 5,000-meter distances. He is also part of the Fords' distance medley relay quartet which produced the nation's third-fastest time in D-III this winter.

Stadler captured the individual titles in the 3,000 and 5,000 -- in meet-record times -- at the 2014 Centennial Conference championship meet the first weekend in March and was voted the league's track athlete of the meet for his efforts.

The 2014 NCAA indoor championship provides Stadler the opportunity to become a repeat national champion after the Belmont, Mass., native won the 5,000 at the meet in 2013. In addition to earning All-America status with that result Stadler has raced to three other All-American honors, twice in cross country and last spring in the 5,000 at the 2013 NCAA outdoor meet.
