Ainsley Wins Two Events at Pyrah Invitational

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's indoor track and field team started its season off in the Villanova Jack Pyrah Invitational at the Alumni Field House on Saturday.

Senior Jonathan Yellets just missed a top ten finish, placing 11th in the 60 meters (7.35). Yellets won his heat by two-tenths of a second while freshman Liam Lynch registered a 7.41 in that heat. Junior Alex Frost secured the third position in his heat (7.43).

In the 300m event, freshman Scott Pollara was the top finisher for Haverford in the 15th position (38.36). Polllara won his heat by almost a full second over two Swarthmore runners. Sophomore Michael Bueno had a time of 41.73 seconds in the event.

Senior Jeffrey Ainsley won his fifth career 60m hurdles event with a time of 8.57 seconds. He took the title over Villanova's Aaron Sandifer (8.73). Senior Dorvil Gabriel broke a personal best (8.97) to finish fourth. Ainsley also won his first career high jump title (1.78m) and placed third in the long jump (6.16m).

Haverford's 4x400m relay team of Yellets, Lynch, Gabriel and Frost crossed the finish line in a time of 3:28.69, fourth quickest in the 12 team field. The team's time beat D-1 schools, LaSalle and St. Joseph's.

Head coach Tom Donnelly's squad will host Widener at the Alumni Field House on Thursday to wrap up the 2015 portion of the season.
