Men's Track Scores Five Winners vs. Widener

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's indoor track and field team had five winners in its dual meet vs. Widener University at the Alumni Field House on Thursday afternoon.

Junior Alex Frost nabbed the top time in the 60m event (7.37) by nine-tenths of a second over Widener's Josh Colley. Frost's time is a personal best and ranks among the top ten all-time in program history.
 

The Fords had two of the top three finishers in the 200m, highlighted by senior Jonathan Yellets' 23.28. Frost won his heat (24.35), but had the third quickest time among the six competitors.

The 400m event saw freshman Liam Lynch registered the fifth speediest time ever (50.28) for the indoor track program. Freshman Scott Pollara placed third in the race (53.57).
 

Haverford had 12 runners in the mile with freshman Chris Goings scoring the fastest (4:37.07) among Ford runners. Widener's Will McDermott won the event (4:19.18). Sophomore Marcelo Jauregui-Volpe won his heat (4:39.70). 

Junior Evan Hamilton shattered his previous best in the 5,000m by 24 seconds with a 15:34.97, good for second in the race. Senior Dorvil Gabriel (9.14) toppled his teammate, freshman Zach Oji (9.65) in the 60m hurdles. Oji's time is fifth in program history. The 4x200m relay team of senior Jeffrey Ainsley, Yellets, Lynch and Frost secured a 1:33.21, winning among the event.
 

Head coach Tom Donnelly's squad will now take a break for finals and the holidays. The team's next event will be at the Kutztown Invitational next month (Jan. 15). The meet is scheduled for 5 p.m.
