Women's 2016-17 Indoor Track & Field Schedule

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's and women's indoor track & field teams have announced their schedules for the 2016-17 season. Five home meets will be contested inside the Alumni Field House this winter as the teams gear up for the postseason.

The season starts with two of those home meets before the holiday break. Up first will be the Villanova Pyrah Invitational on Saturday, December 3. While the men run in the meet hosted by Villanova on campus, the women will take part in the Ursinus College Bow Tie Meet that same day. The 2016 portion of the schedule comes to a close with the Holiday Meet on Thursday, December 8 inside the Alumni Field House.

When the teams return for the spring semester, three road meets will await them in January. In successive Saturdays, both teams will travel to Franklin & Marshall (Jan. 14), the Collegeville Invitational (Jan. 21), and the Columbia Invitational (Jan. 28). Once the calendar flips to February, Haverford will be at home for three of the final four meets during the regular season as it hosts the Haverford Tri-Meet (Feb. 1), McElligott Invitational (Feb. 11), and Keogh Invitational (Feb. 18). The only road trip for the Fords in February will come when they make the trek to Staten Island, New York for the Villanova Invitational.

The 2017 Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships will be hosted by Ursinus College and run from Saturday, February 25 through Sunday, February 26. Qualified runners will then compete at the NCAA Championships on Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11. There is also the option of a last chance meet on Saturday, March 4 at Tufts should it be needed.

Both men's and women's indoor track & field placed second at the Centennial Conference Championships last season. The women also qualified the distance medley relay for the first time in school history and finished in third place overall. The men's team qualified its DMR as well and earned an All-America certificate from Charlie Marquardt '16 as he finished as the runner-up in the mile.
