Greg Morgan Named CC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford sophomore middle distance athlete Greg Morgan has been named the Centennial Conference Indoor Track Co-Athlete of the week, the conference office announced in a release on Monday afternoon.

Morgan had a stellar week competing in the mile at the prestigious Villanova Open a the Ocean Breeze complex on Staten Island. Morgan finished in fourth place overall with a career-best time of 4:13.16. The time was converted to 4:16.86 for NCAA qualifying purposes, which gives him the eighth best time thus far in Division III competition.

Morgan has already accumulated mutliple accolades through his first four running seasons at Haverford. Morgan was an NCAA All-Mideast Region selection during the 2016 cross country campaign and also was named second-team All-Centennial Conference. The Holidaysburg, Pa. product adds the weekly indoor plaudit to his second-team All-Centennial Conference (2016 4x800 relay, 2016 DMR) selection in the 2016 outdoor season.

Morgan and the Fords head back to the track for a busy week of action, with the squad splitting Saturday between the Ursinus-hosted Colden Invitational in Collegeville, Pa. and the Villanova Invitational in Staten Island, N.Y. Action begins at 10:00 a.m. at Ursinus and at 4:00 p.m. in New York City.
