Lynch Wins 800m Title to Highlight Collegeville Invitational

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Haverford junior Liam Lynch won the 800 meter run at the Collegeville Invitational to headline the day for the Haverford Men's Indoor Track & Field team on the campus of Ursinus College. Lynch finished in a time of 1:59.76 to claim victory for his second straight week of competition. The Fords ended up with a ninth place finish in 24.50 despite only competing in a limited number of events.

Lynch gave 10 points to the Fords with the victory. Sam Ditkovsky finished 24th in the same race with a time of 2:11.80.

Matt Katz scored for the Fords with a 4:27.96 finish in the mile, notching six points for Haverford. In field events, Cameron Albrecht scored 4.5 points with a 1.70 meter mark and Rohan Shukla was sixth with a mark of 1.65 meters for three points.  Zach Oji rounded out the Haverford scorers with a mark of 11.88m in the triple jump, good for two points.  Cameron Albrecht was 21st in the long jump with a distance of 5.34 meters.

In the 400 meter, Scott Pollara finished in 54.72 for a 14th place finish while Oji was 25th in 55.75. Oscar Huang was 39th in 58.95. Huang competed in the 60 meter dash, finishing in 31st with a time of 7.69. Pollara was an entrant in the 200 meter with a 20th place in 24.79. Josiash Legaspi returned to action,  finishing in 27th with a mark of 10.48 meters in the indoor shot put.

Haverford now returns to action at the McElligott Invitational at the Alumni Field House on Saturday, January 27. Action will begin at noon.
