Men’s Indoor Track and Field Sweeps CC Awards, as Eaton and Bluman Garner Accolades

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. -  The Haverford College Men's Indoor Track & Field team swept the weekly indoor Centennial Conference awards, as senior Ravi Eaton has been tabbed the Field Athlete of the Week, while first-year Owen Bluman has earned Track Athlete of the Week in his rookie season. The Centennial Conference weekly honors are the first in the careers of Eaton and Bluman. 

Ravi Eaton began the 2023-24 Indoor Track and Field season soaring to new heights, as the senior etched his name into the record books in the triple jump. The New York, N.Y. native secured third place in the event, clearing 14.05 meters (46 feet, 1.25 inches), setting a new personal best, and also climbing the ranks all the way to third in program history. The jump also notched the fourth best overall distance in program history in both the indoor and outdoor triple jump combined. The magnificent leap from Eaton is the ninth best in Centennial Conference history, and the 12th-best mark in Division III. 

Eaton also competed in the long jump securing a fourth-place finish by clearing 6.63 meters (21 feet, nine inches). This marked a new personal best for Eaton, propelling him into the indoor top-10 list at Haverford.

Bluman had quite the debut at the Ursinus Bow Tie Invitational, as the first-year was one of seven Haverford runners who competed in the mile run. The Pittsburgh, Pa. product raced to a time of 4:29.15 to take third-place in a field of 24 other runners. Bluman's converted mile time currently ranks 36th in the nation this season.

Eaton, Bluman, and the rest of the Fords will now take a break for finals and the winter holiday before resuming action on January 12, 2024 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Invitational on Staten Island, with the event starting at 12 p.m. at the Ocean Breeze Complex.
