LANCASTER, Pa. - After the first day of action at the Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at Franklin & Marshall, the Haverford College men find themselves in third place with a total of 34 points.

Haverford secured a gold medal in the triple jump, where Ravi Eaton reached the top of the podium with a stellar performance. Eaton cleared 14.20 meters (46 feet, 7.25 inches) to claim the crown.

This outstanding showing not only earned Eaton a gold medal but also marked a new personal best, propelling him to second place in school history for the event, behind only Chaz Thomas '09. Eaton now holds the distinction of being Haverford's first indoor triple jump champion since Thomas in the 2009 season.

Jory Lee also medaled for the Fords, achieving a personal best of 13.88 meters (45 feet, 6.5 inches) to secure a bronze. Lee surpassed his previous best and now holds the fourth-best mark in program indoor history.

Haverford also excelled in the 5,000 meters, with Peter LaRochelle claiming the silver in 14:47.99, an improvement from his bronze medal finish last season. The event featured a strong showing from a bevy of Haverford entrants, including Seamus Fraser in 14th place (15:33.69), Luca Ponticello in 16th place (15:47.37), Jakob Maiwald in 21st place (15:55.9), Sammy Schindel in 24th (15:59.7), and Joseph De Rosa achieving a personal best in 28th place (16:04.11). Rowan Shigeno rounded out the Haverford contingent in 32nd place (16:33.11).

The men's distance medley relay squad, comprising Matthew Denton, Jonathan Hill, Micah Lachman, and Reza Eshghi, secured a bronze with a time of 10:26.57. Haverford's 4x800 team, consisting of Lachman, Owen Bluman, Reed Solomon, and Denton, earned four points for the Fords with a fifth-place finish overall.

In the 60-meter preliminaries, Zenas Boamah finished 19th in 7.4, with Jason Mayo just behind in 20th (7.41).

The 2024 Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships will conclude on Sunday. The second day of the championship meet will begin at 11 a.m. and continue through the 4x400 relay, slated for a 3:55 p.m. start. Medal ceremonies for day two events will follow the conclusion of the action.
