Men's Track & Field Hauls in Centennial Conference Postseason Awards

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's track & field team received eight awards from the Centennial Conference on Thursday. Ravi Eaton and Reza Eshghi secured first and second team All-Conference honors, respectively. Peter LaRochelle and Matthew Denton also earned second-team honors, and Jory Lee received an honorable mention for the triple jump. Additionally, in his senior season, Xingyun Yang was named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship team.

Eaton played a crucial role in Haverford's third-place overall finish, dominating the jumps. He clinched the triple jump title on Saturday with a leap of 14.20 meters (46 feet, 7.25 inches), marking Haverford's first triple jump gold since 2009. Demonstrating his elite leaping abilities, Eaton also secured a silver medal in the long jump on Sunday with a clearance of 6.59 meters (21 feet, 7.5 inches), narrowly missing gold by half an inch to Ethan Oluwule of Johns Hopkins.

Eshghi earned a pair of All-Conference honors, claiming the mile championship and securing a second-team selection in the 3,000 meters. In the mile, Eshghi delivered an impressive 4:16.06, bringing Haverford back to the top of the podium after a one-year hiatus from gold. Notably, this marked Eshghi's third consecutive season scoring in the mile, making him the 26th Centennial Conference mile champion from the program. In the 3,000 meters, he secured a second-place finish with a personal-best time of 8:26.39.

Denton, finishing just behind Eshghi in the mile, claimed silver in 4:17.68, while Cross Country All-American LaRochelle secured silver in 14:47.99, an improvement from his bronze medal finish last season in the same event.

Lee also medaled for the Fords, achieving a personal best of 13.88 meters (45 feet, 6.5 inches) to secure a bronze. Lee surpassed his previous best, now holding the fourth-best mark in the program's indoor history.

Yang earned All-Sportsmanship honors, competing in four meets for Haverford this season, splitting time between the mile and the 3,000 meters. He posted a career-best 4:59.61 at the Frank Colden Invitational on February 3 and followed with a PR of 10:04.84 in the Keogh Invitational 3,000 a week later.
