The Haverford College athletic department handed out its end of the year awards and recognized all the amazing contributions from the student-athletes in the Class of 2020.
Mike Jensen writes, "this weekend, a couple of hundred of Donnelly runners came back for a reunion, most of all honoring a man who was a hero to virtually all of them."
Organized by Eighth Dimension, Haverford's Office of Community Service, and promoted by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), this festival is another example of the Haverford athletic department supporting the NCAA Division III Special Olympics initiative.
Haverford was one of just 53 Division III institutions that were recognized by DIII and its national SAAC representatives for completing the 50 for 50th Challenge.
Being a student-athlete forced me to adopt an efficient work ethic and good daily routine. In this way, the relationship between these two commitments complement one another.
The Haverford College Athletic Department will induct its ninth class into the Thomas Glasser ’82 Hall of Achievement in the spring of 2020. The deadline for submission of nominees for the 2020 Hall of Achievement is August 1, 2019.
