Haverford men fill up top-20 at cross country Invite

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's cross country team placed 10 runners within the first 19 to cross the finish in Friday's Haverford JV Tee-Shirt Invitational on the College's 4-mile Alumni Course.

Andrew Sturner was the top Fords finisher crossing the line in third place with a time of 20 minutes, 37.48 seconds.

Close behind was teammate Peter Kissin in a fifth place time of 20:47.02 which was 20 seconds faster than the time he ran on the same course in the Main Line Invitational one month ago.

Rounding out the Fords in the top-10 were Eric Arnold (7th, 20:49.02), Ivo Milic-Strkalj (8th, 20:51.59), and Phil Eiseman (9th, 20:58.56).

The next four Fords also placed in the top-20 of the 95 runners in the race.

Faraz Sohail (12th, 21:20.94) was 32 seconds faster than his time in the Main Line meet, and teammate Atticus Brigham (13th, 21:22.35) was 23 seconds faster. In 15th place with a time of 21:24.91 was Andrew Golato who clocked a time Friday that was also 23 seconds faster than at the Main Line.

Filling out the Haverford runners in the top-20 were Ben Cutilli (16th, 21:31.64) and Pat Haneman (19th, 21:38.21).

No team scores were kept but the Invitational's individual winner was Villanova's Brian Tetreault who clocked a time of 20:22.00.

The JV meet marks the end of the regular season for all of the Fords who next take to the trails October 31 for the Centennial Conference Championship hosted by Gettysburg College.
