HAVERFORD, Pa. – Led by freshman Jeff Duncan and junior Ethan Haswell, the Haverford College men's cross country team pushed six runners into the top 25 of Friday evening's non-scoring Haverford Invitational.

The invitational included teams from Villanova University, Gwynedd Mercy College, The College of New Jersey, Lebanon Valley College, Swarthmore College and Widener University along with runners from Philadelphia University and Valley Forge Christian College.

Duncan, who posted a 12th-place time of 20 minutes, 28 seconds for the four-mile Alumni course, edged out Haswell in 13th by one second. Sophomore Avi Bregman was close behind in 16th, completing the course with a time of 20:32.

Freshman Joel Christian was 18th (20:36) with senior teammate Andrew Golato one spot back in a time of 20:49. Junior Michael Riccio (23rd, 20:56) rounded out the Haverford runners finishing within the top 25.

Five Villanova runners were joined by one other collegian, Gwynedd Mercy's Brett Kubiak, in the final top 10 finishers.

Haverford's men will head to Carlisle, Pa., for the team's next meet -- the 2011 Centennial Conference championship -- on Saturday, Oct. 29. The Fords captured last year's conference race on the way to winning the 2010 NCAA Mideast regional title and national championship crown.
