NEWVILLE, Pa. – Fords junior Jordan Schilit raced to the individual crown and Haverford College captured the team title Saturday at the Centennial Conference men's cross country championship hosted by Dickinson College at Big Spring High School.

The Fords won their second league title in a row with a dominating performance Saturday placing all five scoring runners within the top six finishers. Haverford accumulated 19 points to easily outdistance runner-up Dickinson College's 46 points. Swarthmore College was third with 110 points.

Schilit led the way with a winning time of 26 minutes, 52.8 seconds for the eight-kilometer course giving the Fords the individual titlist in consecutive seasons. Dickinson's Dylan Staughan was second but the next five runners across the finish line all wore a white singlet with Haverford splashed across the chest.

Joining Schilit on the first-team all-conference squad from Haverford were Brian Sokas (So., third place, 27:00.8), senior Eric Arnold (fourth, 27:07.1), senior Andrew Sturner (fifth, 27:09.5), junior Peter Kissin (sixth, 27:11/7) and senior Tim Schoch (seventh, 27:22.0). Junior Ivo Milic-Strkalj (27:27.9) cracked the top-10 with a ninth-place finish.

The team championship is the 17th for Haverford and Schilit became the 14th Ford to win the individual Centennial title.

Haverford continues its season with the NCAA 2011 Mideast Regional on Saturday, Nov. 12 in Center Valley, Pa. Last season's Fords used team victories at the conference and regional meets to catapult to the NCAA title.
