Rasmussen Finishes Second at Haverford Invitational

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's cross country team hosted the Haverford Invitational on Friday at the Alumni Course on the campus of Haverford College. No team scores were kept in the race.

The Fords had 10 runners among the top 20 finishers in the 97 person field, including a second place finish by senior Soren Rasmussen (20:31.70). Rasmussen's time was career-best four mile run for him. Sophomore Charlie Hale tallied a seventh place time with a personal-best 20:58.10. Junior Jeff Duncan was ninth (21:06.05) while senior John Curry rounded out the top ten (21:15).

Sophomore Evan Hamilton shaved 18 seconds off his career best time with a 21:25.70 in the 11th position. Senior David Marsico ran a 21:26.80 and was 12th.

Four freshmen for the Fords had top 20 finishes. Matt Willig finished 16th in the race (21:28.40), Marcelo Jauregui-Volpe (21:34.10) was right behind him (17th), Henry Woods had a time of 21:36.30 (18th) and Tyler Fong (21.37.60) placed 19th.

Ben Malone of Villanova won the event with a time of 20:31.50.

Haverford will host the Centennial Conference Championship next Saturday on the Alumni Course beginning at 11 a.m.
