Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College men's cross country head coach Tom Donnelly was named Centennial Conference Coach of the Year by his peers, the conference announced today. It's the fourth time that he's been awarded the honor (2010-12).

Donnelly, in his 40th season at the helm of Haverford's track and cross country programs, has helped produce 89 All-Centennial Conference runners in the 22-year history of the conference with the next closest team, Dickinson, only producing 29.

The All-CC first team is the top seven runners from the Centennial Conference Championship. With that, junior Charlie Marquardt, seniors David Roza, Joel Christian and Soren Rasmussen were named to the first team. Marquardt, by winning the individual title, was named conference Runner of the Year. Sophomore Jimmy Gorman, by virtue of his ninth place finish, made the All-CC second team.

Senior Zachary Gabor was nominated to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship team.

The No. 13 Haverford College men's cross country team will look to qualify for the NCAA Championship this Saturday at the Mideast Regional in Newville, Pa. with a first or second place finish in the team race. The race is scheduled for 11 a.m.
