USTFCCCA Regional Rankings

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's cross country team checks in at No. 4 in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches (USTFCCCA) National Coaches Poll, the organization announced on Wednesday afternoon.

The Fords are ranked behind North Central (Ill.), Washington-St. Louis and Amherst. Pomona-Pitzer, RPI, MIT, Middlebury, Calvin, and Wisconsin-La Crosse round out the top 10 in the national weekly prognostication. The Fords also top the Mideast Region, with No. 12 Carnegie Mellon, No. 16 Johns Hopkins, No. 35 Dickinson, and Stevenson following in the regional rankings.

Last week, the Fords took third place overall at the Main Line Invitational on the Haverford campus. The Fords topped Division III entrants Widener, Swarthmore, and Muhlenberg while outpacing Division I Saint Joseph's. Overall, Haverford finished with 66 points, well clear of fourth-place Widener's 149-point performance. Dylan Gearinger was the top Division III finisher in a career-best time of 19:47.4, more than 10 seconds faster than his previous personal record in the distance.

Haverford is away from competition this week before heading to the Paul Short Invitational on Saturday, September 29 on the campus of Lehigh University. The meet is always a highlight of the fall schedule, with top competition from across all three divisions converging in Bethlehem, Pa. on the final weekend of September.
